IRC stands for Internet Relay Chat, commonly known as chat. it can get addictive, and
i enjoy it somewhat.

to chat you need an IRC client. this is simply a program which can communicate with the
main server you connect to in order to chat with other people who connect to the same
server. java clients can be used or stand alone clients.
WINDOWS USERS
there are a number of clients out there, but the most popular are mIRC and Pirch98.

LINUX USERS
now, we all know linux is WAY better than windows, but you gotta
humour these 'doze okes you know? hehe :) . same applies for Linux except that, in my
opinion and i'm sure it is a fact, Linux chat clients are more powerful, although maybe
a little less user friendly. the most popular clients are IRCII, BitchX, Epic. my
favorite is BitchX. they can be downloaded at the following sites:
